A Nigerian woman on Twitter described how she was forced to pay a cobbler with food from her home due to the lack of cash in the nation.
The woman, Helen Temitope, claimed that after hiring the shoemaker to fix her shoes, he requested her to give him any cash she had on hand because he had not had enough sales to buy food for days.
Nigerians have gone on the rampage to protest in the streets due to a shortage of naira notes, which has caused mayhem throughout the nation. Enraged youngsters have set banks on fire.
Helen felt sorry for the artisan and, as she too was short on funds, chose to pay him with a plate of rice and raw gari to sate his hunger.
The young lady posted a picture of the shoemaker consuming meals in her compound on the microblogging platform, Twitter.
Steve from Dark Horse; You have no idea what you just accomplished for that man. I'm curious how some of these guys are surviving during this time given this policy.
@Voke_Nurse; This is a charitable deed. May God reward you. Furthermore, it's a good thing that you covered his face rather than reacting to individuals who want to upset him.
