A woman has disclosed that she breastfeeds her spouse, and that this has improved his health in addition to strengthening their bond.

The unique tradition was initiated by US citizen Rachel Bailey, 30, and her husband Alexander, 30, in 2017, and the pair hasn't looked back.

According to the mother-of-three Alexander has received several compliments on his complexion and hasn't had a cold in the past two years.

The couple maintains that "nothing bad has come from it all," thus they are not ashamed of it.
"We wanted to share it because we don't think it's bad and we aren't ashamed," she said, adding that it's a bit of a taboo subject.

In an attempt to support Rachel when she was overlactating while breastfeeding their children, Alexander first started consuming her breastmilk.

"I went away on a cruise with Alexander when my middle child, Aria, who is now six, was breastfeeding," the mother said.

But I misplaced my breast pump, and for two days I had severe engorgement.

We decided that my husband would attempt to drink the milk to help me because I was in so much agony and worried that I would get sick.

"At first, we were apprehensive about him nursing from me, but after we gave it a try, we realised it was fine."

"An instant relief when Alexander latched on," according to Rachel.
Additionally, she continued, "it has strengthened our bond and given us a unique connection that we would not have had if we hadn't started this."

He was consuming her milk "three to four times a day," when she was producing the most right after giving birth.
